Photofacial Treatments – Minneapolis St. Paul, MN
Clear, beautiful skin is everyone’s goal. When we are children, we have clear, flawless, blemish-free skin. But many factors conspire to frustrate us as we become adults. As we grow older, new blemishes on our skin seem to appear with each passing decade. Fortunately, many of these imperfections are quite superficial and can be minimized or eliminated with medically based treatments. As the most trusted medical spa in the Twin Cities, we offer a complete range of skin treatments, including the latest Photofacial technology, also known as Fotofacial. Every patient at our Minneapolis St. Paul medical spa receives a thorough evaluation and consultation to find the ideal solution for any skin issue. Photofacial skin care is one of our many options.
Is Photo Facial Treatment Right for You?
This advanced skin care treatment is often an excellent choice for the following conditions, among others:
- Pigmented Lesions – Commonly called age spots, sun spots, or even liver spots, these superficial light brown lesions are actually Solar Lentigines, and are caused by sun-exposure. As we age, our skin is less able to recover from sun damage, and these spots become more common. A related lesion, which covers a larger, more diffuse area is called Actinic Bronzing. Photo Facial is effective for these lesions in many cases.
- Vascular Lesions – These are superficial red or purple veins just under the skin’s surface. Such lesions include Rosacea or facial inflammation, and Spider Veins which are tiny blood vessels that appear just under the surface of the skin. Depending on the severity, Photofacial treatments can minimize or eliminate many of these lesions.
- Other Skin Problems – Photo Facial treatments may also be used on other superficial skin problems, such as fine lines and wrinkles and acne. Your medical skin care consultant can determine if this advanced technology is appropriate for you.
If you have any of these skin conditions, your medical skin care professional at our medical spa will evaluate you carefully, and recommend the best option for you. Every patient and every condition is unique, and different treatments are needed for different skin types. When Photofacial is the best choice, our medspa has the state-of-the-art technology and expertise to help you get the results you want.
Your Photofacial Experience at Our Minneapolis Medical Spa
Photo Facial treatments are quick and easy. After a brief skin preparation, a wand-like handpiece is passed over the affected area of your skin. The handpiece emits pulses of powerful light that are tuned to the wavelength needed to break up the pigment in the lesion. You may feel the pulses of light as a gentle snapping sensation, but there is little or no discomfort during the procedure.
After your treatment, pigmented lesions will darken slightly, then fade away over the next two weeks or so. Vascular lesions usually undergo graying or blanching immediately. A slight reddening may appear in surrounding areas. The tiny veins will then fade away over a couple of weeks. If the lesions don’t completely disappear after one treatment, additional follow-up sessions will further diminish them, as demonstrated in the before and after photos above.
How Much Does Photo Facial Cost?
The cost is determined by the treated conditions, the severity of the condition, the size of the treated area and the number of sessions needed. During the free consultation, we will provide you a thorough evaluation and provide you a clear price. We offer discounted prices for multiple sessions.
